Anne Shields: British Gran Mauled To Death By Stray Pit Bull She Took Into Spanish Holiday Home
A 67-year-old British woman has been killed by a stray pit bull dog she found starving on the street and took into her holiday home to care for.

Anne Shields, 67, was left with severe wounds to her arm and a "catastrophic" head injury after the stray dog suddenly turned and attacked her.
Concerned neighbours in Macastre, near Valencia, Spain, called the police when they heard screams coming from the property.
When officers arrived at the scene they were forced to shoot the dog so paramedics could reach Ms Shields to administer treatment.
The mother-of-one, who named the stray dog Choccy, tragically died from her injuries in hospital the following day.
The victim's daughter, Sarah, from Preston, said: "She was an animal lover and couldn't bear the thought of throwing Choccy back on the streets.
"Her intention had never been to keep the dog but all the animal shelters were full.
"She was looking after him until she found someone who could take him.
"She stuck with him and then this happened. It's a nightmare.
"She was so caring. This hasn't really sunk in. We'll miss her so much."
Ms Shields bought her holiday home in Spain with her husband Martyn in 2002. He sadly died 18 months later.
