22-year-old Jolissa Fuentes was reported missing on August 8.

On Monday the wreckage of her car containing her belongings was discovered in a ravine near Pine Flat Lake, in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Fresno in California. According to NBC News, local police suspect no foul play was involved in the circumstances surrounding the woman's tragic death and it would appear she had just been out for a drive when the accident occurred.

Rudy Alcaraz, Selma Police chief, who discovered tyre tracks that led authorities to the crash site, said: "We wish that we had better news.

"I wish that we could have brought Ms Fuentes home."

Margaret Mins, Fresno County Sheriff, said: "There's little doubt that we have found her."

Search and rescue teams had to use special equipment to reach the crash site after police said tyre tracks left by the vehicle could be seen running through vegetation towards the edge of the cliff.
