Boy, 13, Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder After Young Girl Is Stabbed In Sheffield
A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a girl, also 13 years old was found stabbed in a Sheffield park.
Police were called to Hillsborough Park in Sheffield at around 9pm on Tuesday where they found the young girl with a stab wound to her abdomen.
Authorities said that the victim was being treated in hospital and was in a stable condition. Police confirmed that they had arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder and that he remained in custody.
Detective Superintendent Nikki Leach said that the victim and the suspect are believed to have known each other and officers are "satisfied that there is no wider risk to the public". She added: "We know that this incident will have caused deep concern amongst the local community and beyond. "Officers remain at the scene and are carrying out additional patrols to provide you with reassurance."
