Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Dies After Off-Duty Policeman Shoots Him In The Head At Concert

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Leandro Lo has died after he was shot in the head by an "off-duty policeman" during a fight at a concert in Sao Paulo.

The 33-year-old Jiu-Jitsu star got into a fight with another man while at a concern in Sao Paulo.


He was rushed to hospital but declared brain-dead just several hours later.

Lo was one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes of all time, winning eight world championships as a black belt since 2012.


Local media reported that an off-duty military policeman had been arrested on suspicion of shooting Lo in the head.


According to reports, the fight started after the suspect attempted to provoke Lo by making threatening gestures with a glass bottle. Allegedly Lo then immobilised the man before onlookers separated the pair, just before the shooting happened.
