Chicago Woman Shoots Carjacker In The Head As Gang Attempt To Steal Her Vehicle

Four armed men attempted to carjack a woman in Chicago before she pulled out a gun of her own and shot one of the attackers in the head, she escaped the scene while one of her attackers remains in hospital in a critical condition.

The 23-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was sitting in her car in the Calumet Heights neighbourhood, near 89th Street and Kenwood Avenue, just after 2am on Wednesday when four armed men jumped out of a black sedan.


One of the men tried to force open the woman's car door while carrying a firearm, the woman, with a concealed-carry permit, pulled out her gun and shot the would-be thief in the head before fleeing the scene on foot.



As she ran, one of the other men shot her in the left arm, she still managed to escape and was said to be in a fair condition at the Advocate Trinity Hospital.


Three of the attackers escaped while the fourth man, who had a gunshot wound to the head, remains in a critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Centre.
