Man Is Arrested After Attempting To Lead Four Year Old Girl Away From A Pub In Middlewich, England
A 51-year-old man who allegedly tried to lure a 4-year-old girl away from a pub in England has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.
A 51-year-old man has been arrested In Middlewich, England, after being accused of attempting to lead a four-year-old girl away from a pub.
The suspect was challenged by a parent after he had been seen approaching the young girl in the Cheshire Cheese pub at 8 pm on Saturday.
Members of the public who had been in the establishment detained the man outside on Lewin Street to prevent him from leaving the area before Cheshire Police arrived.
The 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of child abduction and remains in police custody today.
The young girl that was involved in the incident was physically unharmed. Chief Inspector Claire Jesson said: "While this was a very concerning incident, this was isolated and the suspect was swiftly arrested. "I'd like to thank those who intervened and prevented the suspect from leaving the area. "We have increased patrols to provide reassurance and the family are being supported by officers."
