A dog walker found a teenage girl five hours after she had been left to die in the street following a brutal knife attack in Benhall.
The young girl was stabbed at around 2am in Benhall, Saxmundham, Suffolk, yesterday morning.
Her attacker left her to die in the street before a dog walker found her 5 hours later and called the emergency services.
Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of assault and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Richard Smith, Suffolk County Council, said: "This incident is very clearly shocking. I hope the young lady who has been stabbed can make a full recovery. "This is a horrible incident, but these horrible incidents can happen.
"I was saddened to read about it and I hope the girl can make a speedy recovery."
Police officers and forensics teams were pictured close to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green.
Authorities said that the suspect and the victim are known to each other and appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police.
