Former Deputy Head Of Russia's Gulkevichi District Commits Suicide

The Former Deputy Head of Russia's Gulkevichi district has reportedly committed suicide under suspicious circumstances close to the district's prosecutor's office on Tuesday.

Leonid Gutritz, the former head of Russia's Gulkevichi district committed suicide close to the building of the district prosecutor's office, the incident has been confirmed by the Krasnodar region prosecutor's office, as reported by Kommersant.


The Deputy Prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai, Dmitry Panteleev, went to the scene of the suicide, the Prosecutor's Office confirmed.

Leonid Gutritz headed the Gulkevichi district from 2003 until 2007. After he left his position in office he had a criminal case for fraud against him.

According to preliminary reports, a suicide note was discovered next to his body in which he blamed prosecutors, corrupt investigators, and an alleged con man named Chuiko for his death.

The suicide note said: "Rejoice prosecutors! You, together with the corrupt investigators and the swindler Chuiko, killed me".
