Innocent Woman Stabbed In Swinton Pub During Fight Between Two Men

A woman was stabbed at the Weavers Arms pub in Swinton just after midnight on Saturday during a fight that broke out between two men.

The victim, who is in her 50s, was not believed to be part of the dispute that occurred between the two men. A man in his 20s also suffered numerous injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and is currently in a stable condition.

So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

This incident is the second stabbing that has taken place at the Weavers Arms pub in the last five years, in 2017 a man was stabbed multiple times outside the premises.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "We were called by North West Ambulance Service at 12.20am today (30 July) to a report of a woman with a stab wound after an altercation involving two men at a pub on Swinton Hall Road, Swinton.

"The woman, aged in her 50s and not thought to have been involved in the initial disturbance, suffered a wound that thankfully isn't life-threatening or physically life-changing.

"A man in his 20s is believed to have arrived at hospital himself with a number of wounds that he was treated at hospital for and he is in a stable condition. "No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing by detectives in our Swinton CID."
