A man has been left in a serious condition after being stabbed in the head, chest, and arms in the Vine Tavern on Elephant Lane in Thatto Heath, St Helens, England.
Merseyside Police responded to a call to the Vine Tavern pub in St Helens at approximately 8.55pm yesterday evening. When officers attended the scene the victim was already being treated for stab wounds to his arms, chest, and head, by paramedics.
It has been reported that two people, one armed with a knife, carried out the attack.
The victim, who has not been named was taken to hospital for treatment, authorities have said his injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
Detectives have been carrying out forensic examinations at the scene with uniformed officers carrying out house-to-house inquiries.
The police said that there will be an increase in their presence in the area to reassure the local community.
Detective Inspector Leanne Toole said: "The investigation is in its early stages and officers will be carrying out extensive inquiries in a bid to identify the offenders. I would appeal to anyone who was in the Vine Tavern, or who may have information that could help us with our inquiries to please contact us.
"I would also ask people who were in the area to check dashcam or CCTV footage just in case they may have captured something which may be vital to the case."
