A Kentucky woman who set her pit bull on a man, brutally mauling him to death, while she said "good boy, get him", has been jailed for his murder.
Melissa Wolke has been jailed for 20 years after pleading guilty to murder after using her vicious dog to brutally kill 55-year-old Donald Abner.
Police were forced to shoot the dog after the attack which took place at Wolke's home in Conway, Kentucky, in January 2020. Due to how aggressive the animal was officers were unable to help the victim.
The court heard how a neighbour heard the sounds of the attack, upon investigating they watched as 40-year-old Wolke was on top of Mr Abner, violently assaulting him while encouraging her dog to attack.
The neighbour, who called 911, captured footage of the attack which showed Wolke telling the dog, "Good boy, get him."
According to police, the neighbour was too afraid to attempt to intervene.
A coroner ruled that Mr Abner had died at the scene from asphyxiation. He also suffered bite marks on his face and head as well as a broken bone in his neck.
After being arrested, Wolke broke down during a police interview and said: "Oh my God, I went redneck on him".
Wolke had a history of heavy drinking, when officers searched the property following the attack they found no signs of a fight just an empty liquor bottle.
