Police were led on a terrifying 100mph chase through Kidderminster in August this year after traffic officers spotted a stolen Porsche being driven through the streets and attempted to pull over the driver.

The driver, 44-year-old Michael McDonagh, sped off from officers, taking them on an unbelievably reckless chase through residential areas and country lanes.

Officers were forced to deploy a stinger to blow the tyres of the speeding vehicle, causing it to lose control. Police said McDonagh, who was wanted by several other police forces for a variety of crimes across the UK, attempted to ram their vehicles before continuing to drive with deflated tyres.

McDonagh was eventually forced to stop and was arrested on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving.

During his trial, McDonagh was charged with multiple counts of burglary, fraud, dangerous driving, escaping lawful custody, obstructing police, and driving without a licence or insurance.

McDonagh was sentenced to 10 years in prison at Worcester Crown Court.

West Mercia Police released the dashcam footage and said: "In August this year we spotted this stolen Porsche being driven in the Kidderminster area.

"The footage shows just part of how OPU officers pursued the vehicle, using a stinger to deflate the tyres. The vehicle had been stolen only a few days prior.

"The driver was wanted by numerous police forces across the UK and was arrested by ourselves on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving. CID officers subsequently secured a conviction at court of multiple counts of burglary, fraud, dangerous driving, escaping lawful custody, obstructing police, and driving without a licence or insurance".
