Head Of Ukraine's SBU In Kirovohrad Found Dead At Home With Gunshot Wound

The head of the regional department of the Ukrainian SBU in the Kirovograd region, Oleksandr Nakonechny, has been found dead at his home with a gunshot wound.

Oleksandr Nakonechny who has served as the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Kirovograd region since the start of 2021, has been found dead with what is reported to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Kropyvnytskyi.


Reports state that Mr Nakonechny was found dead by his wife at their apartment on Tarkovsky Street at around 10.25pm on Saturday, August 20.



The news of Nakonechny's death came just hours after the daughter of Alexander Dugin, a top advisor to Vladimir Putin was allegedly killed in a car bomb attack just outside Moscow.


Ukrainian authorities said in a statement: "According to the investigation, on August 20, at about 10.25pm, while in her own apartment, the lieutenant colonel's wife heard the sound of a gunshot and found in one of the rooms the body of a man with a gunshot wound with no signs of life."
