Teenager, 18, Arrested Over Murder Of Woman In Scunthorpe Alleyway

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man over the murder of Danielle Norton, who was found in an alleyway in Scunthorpe last Saturday with a fatal head injury.

Beloved mother, Danielle Norton, was found in an alleyway in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, at around 8.30pm last Saturday suffering from a life-threatening head injury.


Ms Norton was rushed to hospital but tragically died of her injuries four days later on October 5.


Humberside Police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder, the suspect is currently in police custody.


A woman was also arrested in connection with the murder but has been released under investigation.


One online tribute said: "Such a beautiful person, she was actually an angel and now she's been taken home." Touching messages and floral tributes have been left at the scene, with someone even graffitiing "RIP Danielle" on the wall.



Detective Chief Inspector Nicole Elliott said: "Since the incident, officers have been investigating a number of lines of enquiries to establish how the woman came to sustain her injuries. "We understand that a tragic incident of this nature will cause shock to the local community.


"Those living in the area will see an increased number of officers over the coming days. "Our neighbourhood policing team are also in the area providing reassurance to residents and the local community. Please come and speak to us if you have any concerns."
