
St Helens Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Merseyside Police Officer
33-year-old Thomas McComish has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer after an incident that occurred in St Helens on Monday.

Officers were called to Parr Mount Street at around 9.20pm on Monday 5 December after reports were made about a man armed with a knife and a bottle.
Police searched the area and found the man close to The Mount Church on Traverse Street. The suspect became aggressive with the officers while still in possession of the weapons. A struggle occurred while officers detained the suspect, resulting in one of them suffering a minor injury.
Thomas McComish, 33, of Morgan Street, St Helens, has now been charged with attempted murder, attempt to cause GBH with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
McComish is due to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today - Thursday 8 December.
