Tragedy In Whitburn As 11-Year-Old Boy Killed After Being Hit By Bus While Riding His Bike
Authorities have named an 11-year-old boy who was tragically killed when he was hit by a bus while riding his bike in Whitburn, South Tyneside.

11-year-old Mason French, from Whitburn, South Tyneside, was pronounced dead at the scene in Lizard Lane on Tuesday at around 3:30pm. Northumbria Police said that the boy's family are being supported by specially trained officers. Police have spoken to the bus driver, who remained at the scene after the accident, as well as witnesses, but are continuing to appeal for further information.
Northumbria Police Inspector Phil Patterson, said: "We are continuing to support Mason's family as they try and process what has happened.
"Our thoughts are with Mason's loved ones, as well as the local community, who are deeply saddened by this tragic incident.
"We are working hard to establish exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision and have already spoken with the bus driver, who remained at the scene, as well as a number of witnesses who were in the area at the time.
