Woman And Child Dead After Car Found In Pond Near RAF Base

A woman and child have died after being found in a car submerged in a pond near RAF Wittering in Cambridgeshire.

Officers from Cambridgeshire Police attended the scene on Old Oundle Road at around 18.20 on Saturday after receiving a report of a car in the water.


Fire crews and paramedics also attended the incident and removed the woman and a child, a boy, from the blue Ford Focus, authorities confirmed.



The young boy was rushed to hospital for treatment but tragically died later, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.


Police said that it was currently unclear how long the vehicle had been in the water. Authorities are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
