A dog has killed a woman and seriously injured a man in an attack on Friday night in South Yorkshire, England. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Friday night, police attended a property in West Melton, South Yorkshire following a 999 call from the male victim. Upon arrival, they found a woman who had been fatally bitten by a dog and a man with multiple severe injuries - one of them being life-altering.
Police arrived at the property along with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service where they found a 43-year-old woman with a fatal bite wound, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The 42-year-old man, who made the call to the emergency services had suffered a potentially life-altering injury to one hand, as well as serious injuries to his face and stomach. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Authorities removed the dog responsible for the attack as well as another dog at the property. Neither of the canines were of a banned breed.
