A woman who hit news headlines when she accused police of arresting her because she was too "good-looking" has allegedly murdered her own mother.
On Wednesday, 28-year-old Hend Bustami called the police and told them that her mother was dead.
Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Dave Valenta said: "At approximately 2.30 in the morning, a 911 dispatcher received a phone call from a frantic female stating that her mother was dead.
"Then the line was disconnected."
Officers were dispatched to the property on the 10000 block of June Flower Drive, where they discovered Bustami's 62-year-old mother with "multiple deep lacerations", Mr Valenta said.
Detectives determined that Bustami and her mother were engaged in a verbal disagreement
The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been released.
At around 5.30am in Barstow, California, Bustami was arrested and will be charged with open murder and extradited to Clark County.
Bustami first made news headlines after allegedly eating at Chili's restaurant at Harry Reid International Airport on August 31 and left without paying.
Police then found Bustami asleep near the security checkpoint, and took her into custody at the baggage claim area, according to an arrest report.
After her arrest, Bustami claimed, "she was being harassed because cops had never seen anyone as pretty as her."
Police stated that during the arrest, Bustami threatened to spit on officers and said "officers were perverts and were trying to rape her because they had never seen anyone as good-looking."
Police had attended Bustami's home at least 12 years this year, including seven times for "family disturbance", and once for a suicide attempt.
